Flowers From The Heart

He used to bring her flowers
almost every day
Whether he bought them in a shop
or picked along his way

He knew they made her happy
and so he always tried
To show how much he loved her
and was the apple of his eye

He always called her "sweetheart"
and "honey" was his name
The flowers kept on coming
this was his weekly game

And they were blessed with children
God smiled right from the start
His gifts they kept on coming,
flowers fromt the heart

The years rolled on their love grew strong
they were soul mates you could say
When times were rough or times were good
they stayed together day by day

And no amount of hardships
could tear this bond apart
He loved his "sweetheart" dearly
and brought her flowers from the heart

Their family grew and flourished
and then there came the day
Their strength and love was tested
a babies life had slipped away

He gathered round his family
to comfort and to care
Told them "God did have His reasons"
and the flowers, they were there

This family grew together
their love was close and strong
The children respected their parents
it seemed like nothing could go wrong

And then one day three years ago
when the spring was new
She noticed something was not right
and trembled through and through

Her lover, soul mate and best friend
was looking tired and so frail
But he insisted he was fine
and brought her flowers without fail

As the days wore on towards a summers song
the sparkle left his eyes
The secret he had been keeping
no longer could he hide

That season in the hospital
so far away from home
By her "honey's" side she did stay
and this led her thoughts to roam

She remembered all the wonderful years
God blessed her with his love
How she met and married her soul mate
a match made in heaven above

They took him home that summer
to live his final days
With his family and his soul mate
to enjoy this final faze

And she did bring him flowers
to brighten up his room
She never left her best friend
morning night or noon

Then that day in August
God took him from his pain
Where he dwells in heaven
angels wings he now has gained

Still she loves her bestfriend
as much as from the start
And each week she brings him flowers
