Nostalgia
Nostalgia, pain of my heart,
I can only try to keep the tears from falling.
Oh, how my soul weeps of sorrow, falling apart!
as I find myself reminiscing about home, I'm slowly dying.
Separated from my sweet Haiti,
too long it has been since I've seen her beauty.
Thoughts of yesteryears, memories of yesterday,
for my motherland, each night, I kneel down and pray.
A flood of tears streams down my cheeks as I can no longer hold
this sweet and sour feeling that's becoming old.
Living with the hope, Oh Haiti, of seeing you again,
is the remedy to heal this heart of mine that only you can mend.
Gasping for air, I see my life fading away,
and in your arms I long to take my last breath and forever lay.
I'd give all I have today, Oh Island of my roots, to be with you,
but as I find myself lingering, Nostalgia, I send a plea to you.
A plea for a chance, just one last wish at best,
Oh, sweet Nostalgia, hear my plea and take me home for my final rest.

Nostalgie!
Nostalgie, peine de mon coeur,
Oh, que mon me pleure de douleur!
Spar de mon doux pays, il y a bien longtemps;
Toute ma passion n'est que d'y retourner pour un instant.
Avec tant de chagrin d'amour pour mon pays,
L'unique raison de vivre, pour moi, c'est de revoir nouveau ma patrie.
Gmissant de douleur dans mon coeur, j'entends mon me crier;
Inutile de lui demander pourquoi, car elle ne veut plus en parler.
Et se retournant vers le pass, elle s'efforce encore d'y penser.
